The Michelle Sklenka Scholarship
To continue Michelle Sklenka’s legacy of dedication, compassion, and meaningful impact on education, her husband, Brian, has established a scholarship for residents of Taylorville, Illinois attending Lincoln Land Community College.
Over the last two decades, Brian watched his wife, Michelle, in many unpaid positions as she passionately helped school children. Her deep willingness to give to others and improve their lives inspired him. He wanted her effort to continue after retirement.
Education is truly enduring. No matter what the field of education, students gain knowledge and learn to think, to reason and to problem solve. Such development will have a lasting impact not only on the students but on everyone with whom they associate throughout their lives.
Since money is a major hurdle for some students, the ideal solution to help has presented itself: the creation of the “The Michelle Sklenka Scholarship.” Although it won’t truly capture her enduring smile and bubbly personality, the scholarship is in line with her passion to give.
According to Brian: “To those who receive the scholarship, my wife, my children and I wish you the very best in your life. May you prosper in pursuing your dreams, and may you always be a blessing to those around you.”
